Position Description

The Director, Manufacturing Development & Performance Consulting is considered an industry expert and accountable for BlueForge Alliance’s various efforts in quality, manufacturing engineering & technologies, and factory management support across our entire portfolio. This role, under the moderate guidance of the Principal, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, is the functional leader for several teams in various operational disciplines such as quality, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, continuous improvement, and factory management. These teams are primarily deployed in a matrix organization on various projects within the company, and support various customer and supplier facing initiatives under the general guidance of the Principal, Manufacturing & Supply Chain.   • Lead and provide expertise in quality, manufacturing engineering & technologies, and factory management
  • Develop, deploy, and provide resources for staff to meet project demands in collaboration with JPO team
  • Liaison with BFA program managers for staffing needs to meet corporate contract expectations and provide technical and financial proposal support
  • Ensure adherence to applicable business practices and procedures as required for scope and purpose of work; including regulatory laws, customer requirements, export control, CUI and ITAR requirements 
  • Provides leadership and expertise for “state of the art” processing methods, stays up to date with industry, regulatory and customer changes
  • Supports a wide variety of projects to identify, solve and improve supplier manufacturing locations through advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Maintains positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external customers to support BFA mission and values

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant field (industrial, mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace engineering).  Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • 15+ years’ experience in a related industry with a minimum of 10 years manufacturing support.
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience of technical staff in manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma and ability to demonstrate practical use.
  • Ability to understand, communicate and present complex technical information to a wide audience.
  • Advanced experience in a variety of manufacturing areas/techniques, tools and methods.
  • Fundamental knowledge of factory management areas including business methodologies, ERP, SFE, OEE, etc.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Availability to travel up to 30% of the time to address issues as needed.
