Position Description 

As a Program Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for portfolios of projects within our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of programs and projects, aligning with organizational goals and objectives. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing resources, and fostering effective communication and collaboration across all levels. The Program Manager reports to the Managing Director and plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of programs and projects, driving organizational goals and objectives forward.   • Lead and manage portfolios of projects, ensuring their alignment with organizational strategies and goals
  • Develop and maintain program management plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of programs and projects, ensuring adherence to established processes and best practices
  • Provide guidance and support to Project Managers and Coordinators, fostering their professional growth and development
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally
  • Drive effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and other relevant parties
  • Monitor program performance and progress, conducting regular reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective actions
  • Manage program risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of program management methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Managing Director and other key stakeholders on program status, achievements, and challenges
  • Supervise and provide guidance to Project Managers and/or Coordinators, ensuring their professional growth, development, and effective performance in delivering projects within their respective areas of responsibility
  • Stay aware and knowledgeable of industry trends, emerging practices, and technologies relevant to program management, incorporating them into program strategies and approaches

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree (e.g. MBA, Engineering) and 8+ years of experience; or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in program management, overseeing portfolios of projects, preferably within the defense sector
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex programs and projects on time and within budget
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software. Experience with specific tools (e.g. Deltek) is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards related to program management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic environment
  • Professional certifications in program or project management (e.g., PMP) are highly desirable
